Support and development of women’s entrepreneurship

Bailyk Finance is the first microfinance organization in the Kyrgyz Republic to implement the ESG strategy, representing green projects and social products. When developing the Strategy, the Company was guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, among which the 5 most relevant for the Company were selected. One of the priority Sustainable Development Goals of the Strategy is Gender Equality, which has been of absolute importance for the Company for many years.
The company shows its commitment to sustainable development goals and willingness to support ESG projects and programs aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs. In this regard, in July of this year, Bailyk Finance Company supported the social project of Bank of Asia CJSC, becoming the owner of gender bonds.
On August 1, 2023, a meeting was held between the General Director of the Bailyk Finance Company Moldazhanova Chinara Darkenbaevna and the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Asia CJSC Zemfira Akishovna Atakishieva. The meeting discussed issues of mutual cooperation between organizations, as well as further programs to support women’s entrepreneurship in the Kyrgyz Republic.
“As a socially oriented Company, we understand the importance of such projects, we were very pleased to take the initiative and become a responsible investor in women’s bonds.” – noted Chinara Darkenbaevna.
SDG targets Gender equality for 2023:

The proportion of women among the Company’s clients is 59%;
The number of women who have completed various trainings of the Company – 1,200 people;
The proportion of women among the Company’s employees is 66%;
The proportion of women in top management – 67%;

Also, as part of the implementation of the Action Plan of the State Program for the Support and Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2021-2025, Bailyk Finance Company supported the Project of the International Mentoring Program for Women Entrepreneurs as part of the USAID Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Development Project. Employees of our Company, together with the DevCIT Training Center, conducted trainings on financial literacy for women entrepreneurs running their own business. The program included expert business diagnostics, preparation for investments and international expansion, improvement of business processes and their systematization, search and creation of partnerships, and much more.
On July 26 of this year, the Bailyk Finance Company, represented by the General Director Chinara Moldazhanova, received a Letter of Appreciation from the DevCIT Training Center for promoting and supporting women’s entrepreneurship, to expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Central Asia.
